Tywardreath Trotters
Saturday 26th July 2008. This will be the 3rd year for the race, which has a 1 mile fun run at 5.30pm and the main 7 mile race at 6.30pm. Both races are multi-terrain, with approx half of the main race off road, and the rest on quite country lanes. Last year over 200 runners took part and we raised over £1,000 for village charities. (Just in case you have never been to Tywardreath, it's 6 miles east of St Austell, on the way to Fowey.) Par Scout Troop Centenary Celebrations
Saturday/Sunday 16th/17th August 2008 - 1st Par-St.Blazey & Fowey Scout Group are celebrating 100 years of continuous Scouting. The group are having an open weekend at their HQ in Moorland Road, Par. Various displays, photograhps, memorabilia. Including a section by the Par Old Cornwall Society with old photographs taken around the area.
