Tywardreath Women's Institute

Today's Women's Institute is not just about jam and Jerusalem! The WI is Britain's largest women's organisation and we are fortunate to have a branch in Tywardreath. The WI has a strong local and national network. Tywardreath WI is part of the Gribbin group, joining with Fowey, Polkerris and Cuddra WIs for group meetings and other activities. County events are organised by Cornwall Federation of WIs across a broad spectrum. The WI's web-site www.womens-institute.co.uk will give you the full resolutions and related information, as well as many other facts, links and history of the WI (you can even find out just why we sing Jerusalem!).

Our programme each month can be viewed on the diary page

Each month we spend a short time on business matters and discussions on forthcoming events and activities. As well as the wide variety of county activities, we organise outings ourselves.

We meet monthly (with the exception of August) in Tywardreath Village Hall on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 2.15 pm. Visitors are always welcome. For just £1 per meeting you can come along to try us out for two meetings, to help you decide whether or not to join us. The subscriptions are due in January and the amount due for 2011 is £30.

On the afternoon of Saturday 4th September 2010, fourteen of our members, went along to the Cornwall Federation 90th Anniversary celebratory event held at Tresillian, near Summercourt. Here you can see the Tywardreath WI Banner being paraded.
